Suryakumar Yadav’s game-changing catch in the T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa has become a major talking point across the cricket spectrum. The incident happened on the first ball of the final of South Africa’s chase after David Miller skied Hardik Pandya’s delivery wide. Although it looked like the ball was headed for a six, Suryakumar came out of nowhere to hit an absolute smash near the boundary rope. It was an important moment in the context of the game, as Miller was the last recognized batsman for the Proteas.

While some claimed that Suryakumar’s attempt was clean and legitimate, others suggested that his shoe came into contact with the boundary pad.

Former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock also dismissed the latter, claiming that Suryakumar’s effort was actually fair.

Amidst all the discussions and debates, a new video of the incident from a different angle has gone viral on social media.

The viral video managed to capture Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s reaction when Suryakumar was running towards the boundary to take the catch.

Recently, Suryakumar opened up at the reception, explaining how careful he was while catching the ball, ensuring that his feet did not touch the rope. But there was one moment that left the Indian star worried.

“Our fielding coach (T) Dilip sir said that Surya, Virat (Kohli), Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja should always field in the critical areas where there is a greater chance of the ball going,” Surya said in a chat -chat with Indian Express.

In execution, Surya admitted that he was careful not to touch the rope while pushing the ball back to the ground. Upon completion, he was confident that it was a fair party.

“When I pushed the ball and caught the ball, I knew I hadn’t touched the rope. The only thing I was careful about was that when I pushed the ball back in, my feet didn’t touch the rope. I knew it was a fair play . Thinking back, anything could have happened if the ball had gone for six, the equation would have been 5 balls, 10 runs we could still have won, but the margin would have been closer,” he said.
