There was a festive atmosphere in Mumbai as thousands of people gathered on the streets to witness the Indian cricket team’s victory parade in the open T20 World Cup bus. After the Indian team arrived in Mumbai, the open bus parade started from Marine Drive and ended at Wankhede Stadium. The fans’ love of seeing their team was clearly visible when one fan climbed to the top of the tree to get a closer look at the team’s celebration as the bus passed by. A video of the same incident went viral on social media. Even Indian players including Virat Kohli were seen laughing at the same thing.

Indian players received a heroes’ welcome upon arrival in the country following their T20 World Cup win last week.
The team arrived in the national capital in the early hours of Thursday. After resting a little, after a long flight from Barbados, the players went to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi organized a felicitation ceremony for the players and support staff. The players also had breakfast with him before leaving for Mumbai in the evening.
In Mumbai, the players were given a warm welcome during the victory parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhade Stadium in an open-top bus.
A sea of jubilant fans, basking in the thrills of a World Cup victory, greeted the team with claps and cheers. Team members reciprocated the sentiments as they smiled and waved to the fans.
Captain Rohit Sharma and batsman Virat Kohli lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy and showed it to the fans gathered in large numbers along the route.
Rohit held the hands of the team’s coach Rahul Dravid and batsman Suryakumar Yadav and the three pressed each other towards the sky, marking the team’s triumph. The team later arrived at the Wankhede Stadium.
A felicitation ceremony was also held at the Wankhade Stadium after the victory parade.
