Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has certainly written a perfect revenge story in the history of cricket. A player, who was booed by his own fans during the 2024 Indian Premier League, is now the cynosure of all eyes after leading India to the T20 World Cup title after a long wait of 17 years. Things were difficult for Hardik during the IPL and even during the 2024 T20 World Cup as he played with minimal fan support. The star all-rounder regained the love of fans after playing a crucial role in India’s campaign to T20 World Cup victory in the USA and West Indies.

While Hardik has previously spoken openly about the poor treatment he received from the crowd, on Thursday he also opened up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Indian team’s visit after returning to the country with the World Cup.

“The last 6 months have been a lot of fun for me, there have been a lot of ups and downs and the public has booed me. A lot of things happened and I always felt that if I gave any response it would be through sports… So, I believed that I would remain strong and work hard,” Hardik told PM Modi.

Hardik was the one holding the trophy in his hands when the World Cup-winning Indian team started their victory parade at Marine Drive in Mumbai. The parade ended at the Wankhede Stadium where the entire team was congratulated by the BCCI.

“India, you mean so much to me! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the love.. these are moments I will never forget! Thank you for coming to celebrate with us despite the rains | We love you so much!” wrote Pandya on the X while carrying his victory parade photo.
