In a major announcement on Wednesday, Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, announced that the conglomerate will sponsor the Indian team traveling to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games. With the Indian contingent in the final stage of preparations for the 2024 Olympics , the Adani Group pledged its sincere support to the country’s champions through a campaign themed #DeshkaGeetAtOlympics. The campaign revolves around the athletes, who spent hours and years training to win and hear the national anthem after victory.

The social media campaign was launched even as Indian sportspeople continue to put in effort before flying to Paris for the Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11.

The campaign, anchored by an inspirational film, encapsulates the tireless dedication of Indian athletes and reignites the feeling of patriotism among the public as India’s best athletes once again take center stage.

The film shows India’s top sporting talents sweating it out as they prepare to head to Paris, aiming to surpass their medal haul at the Tokyo Olympics and earn the honor of hearing the national anthem at one of the most anticipated global sporting events. In the last Olympics, India finished with a record 7 medals, Adani Sportsline reported in a statement on Monday.

The Adani Group is committed to uplifting and developing the sports ecosystem in India in a way that inculcates and drives a sporting culture across the country. Through its contribution, the Group aims to develop India’s next generation of sports champions and support them in their journey to represent India on national and international platforms such as the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and the Olympics.

Since 2016, the Adani Group has supported over 28 athletes in sports such as boxing, wrestling, tennis, javelin, shooting, running, shot put, power walking, archery and more.

Among the beneficiaries are Commonwealth Games gold medalist fighters Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Deepak Punia and boxer Amit Panghal. Dahiya and Punia also secured silver medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2023 Asian Games. The Group also sponsored the Indian contingent at the Tokyo Olympics. The Group has been associated with the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games contingents as official partners as well.

Speaking on the release of the film, Sanjay Adesara, CBO, Adani Sportsline, said, “At Adani Sportsline, we extend our best wishes to our champion athletes and hope that we are more successful than ever. With the help of our programs, we are fully committed to supporting our athletes in their pursuit of excellence at the highest level in sport. And as they fight for the top prize, we must support them, root for them and motivate them.”
