Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as head coach of the Indian team has brought an end to Rahul Dravid’s tenure at the helm of the Indian men’s national cricket team. Dravid led the Indian team to triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup after disappointments in the 2021 T20 World Cup and 2023 ODI World Cup. As the BCCI put a new man in charge of the team, Gambhir, the wife of Rohit Sharma’s Ritika Sajdeh took to social media to pay a final tribute to Dravid, who remains one of the most respected cricketers in history.
In her post, Ritika wrote that the entire Sharma family will miss Dravid, especially his daughter Samaira.
“So many emotions, you mean so much to our whole family. We will miss you so much. I think Sammy will miss you the most,” she wrote.

On Tuesday morning, Rohit also paid tribute to Dravid, saying that Ritika calls the Indian coach his “work wife” and he is lucky to call her that too.
“My wife (Ritika Sajdeh) refers to you as my work wife and I am lucky to be able to call you that too,” Rohit wrote on his Instagram page.
“I have been trying to find the right words to adequately express my feelings about this, but I am not sure if I can,” wrote the Indian captain, who is not known for being openly emotional.
“You are an absolute supporter of this game, but you put all your accolades and achievements aside and came in as our coach and got to a level where we all felt comfortable enough to say anything to you.
“That is his gift, his humility and his love for this game, even after all this time,” Rohit wrote.
