Sanju Samson, India’s vice-captain on the T20I tour to Zimbabwe, recalled being a member of the T20 World Cup winning team last month, saying the emotions of the victorious scenes in Barbados still run through his mind and called This is an unbelievable experience. “The emotions are still going through. The photos are still out there. It was an unbelievable experience. I couldn’t stop smiling. Very lucky to be part of the team. Credit to everyone who contributed. It was a complete team effort,” Samson told broadcasters.

Talking about the move to bring in Mukesh Kumar and Riyan Parag, as well as being Shubman Gill’s replacement in the series, Samson commented, “There will be some change in the batting order, hoping to get some time in the middle. I have been leading RR for the last four years.”

“There were some legends. I take care of legends and young people. You understand cricket a little more. When you are captain, you think about the other players and the team too. I am getting better.”

Zimbabwe fast bowler Richard Ngarava says he feels great now after dealing with fitness issues. “I’ve put in hard yards the last month. I had a knee problem and I’m very happy to be back in the team. A lot of lessons you take away from playing in the (T20) leagues. You find many coaches and fitness trainers. You learn many things. At the end of the day, you want to do the simple things better.”

Asked what makes his bowling partnership with Blessing Muzarabani effective, Ngarava said: “We were in the same gym, it has been going on for a long time. He’s a guy who pumps me up when I’m down and I pump him up when he’s down. Hopefully, we will continue to take wickets. Hopefully, we can both win in the same match.”
