2024 Olympics Archery LIVE Qualifying Round: After 36/72 arrows, Ankita Bhakat dropped out of the top 10, placing 12th with 335 points. India also dropped out of the top four, placing sixth. Bhajan Kaur came 23rd with 330 points while Deepika Kumari bagged 37th place with 327 points. India’s 2024 Olympics campaign begins with archery as the individual qualification rounds begin a day before the opening ceremony of the Paris Games. These ranking rounds will decide each archer’s ranking for both the individual and team events. Experienced archer Deepika Kumari will lead India’s attack, participating in her fourth Olympics. However, she will be joined by two female debutants, 26-year-old Ankita Bhakat and 18-year-old Bhajan Kaur. Among the men, Tarundeep Rai, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Pravin Ramesh Jadhav will participate.
The classification of the men’s and women’s teams will be decided by the archers’ combined individual scores, while the best men’s and women’s scores will be taken to decide the classification of the mixed team.

India dropped out of the top four in the women’s team rankings, halfway through the women’s individual rankings round (36/72 arrows). Ankita Bhakat remained the highest-ranked Indian and is currently ranked 12th with a score of 335.
18-year-old Bhajan Kaur is 23rd with 330 while veteran Deepika Kumari is 37th with 327.

Bhajan’s improvement led India to third place in the women’s team. South Korea and China are the only two nations above India at the moment.

Olympic Archery LIVE: Qualifying Round Format
The men’s team and women’s team rankings are decided by the combined scores of the men’s and women’s archers respectively. The four best classified teams go directly to the quarterfinals, while those classified from 5 to 12 go directly to the round of 16.
For mixed teams, the best individual score from the men’s and women’s individual classifications is considered to decide the seeds. Only the top 16 teams qualify for the final event.
