Team USA gymnast Jordan Chiles is bringing the fun to her second Olympic Games, this time through her floor routine to Beyoncé.

Chiles’ stellar performance at the Paris Summer Olympics is accompanied by a medley of anthems like “My House,” “Energy” and even “Lose My Breath” by Destiny’s Child. The year-old Olympian competed to atypical music for a floor routine. In fact, Chiles had previously attracted attention for a hip-hop-inspired solo performance, where she. competed for “Let Me Clear My Throat” by DJ Kool and “Push It” by Salt-N-Pepa, among others.

This performance was during a collegiate match, which differs from an international match where judges may be less open to popular musical performances. Gymnastics rules state that the music for the floor routine must not have lyrics, which is why many athletes choose to incorporate classical music into their routine.

But Chiles hopes to leave his mark. “She’s there to make an impact and to empower other gymnasts to be themselves,” UCLA assistant coach BJ Das, the choreographer behind Chiles’ floor routine, told Los Angeles Times.

Das also included Beyoncé’s influence in the signature Rebirth pose that Chiles does after her second tumbling pass, a shoulder roll in “Run the World”, and at the end of her routine with the same pose that Beyoncé does at the end of her “Everybody Mad” dance break at Coachella.

Chiles has spoken publicly about Beyoncé’s influence, previously stating in a video for Olympic Gymnastics that her motto is “I’m That Girl,” another Beyoncé record. “I feel like I’ve proven enough for this world,” she says. “I don’t need to, you know, change anything, and I can just be authentic with who I want to be.” The gymnast even ordered a custom leotard that matched one of Beyoncé’s tour outfits for the USA Gymnastics Championships. according to NBC Philadelphia.

Chiles had the third highest qualifying score leading to the women’s floor final. Her biggest competitors: teammate Simone Biles and Brazilian Rebeca Andrade, the latter surpassing her by just 0.034 points. (Andrade also choreographed a Beyoncé song: “End of Time.”)

The routine appears to have gotten Beyoncé’s stamp of approval, with the 32-time Grammy winner sending Chiles a signed copy of her latest album, Cowboy Carter. Chiles shared the gift On Instagram, which included a congratulatory note. “I always watch you with pride and admiration! Thank you for representing us,” Beyoncé wrote.

The final showdown, where viewers will be able to watch Chiles’ choreography once again, will take place on Monday, August 5th.
