MS Dhoni is back to his best for Chennai Super Kings once again. This time, facing their wrath were the Lucknow Super Giants at their home ground on Friday. After Chennai Super Kings lost six, MS Dhoni reached the boundary in the 18th over. And it didn’t take long for him to show his old magic. In IPL 2024, MS Dhoni played the cameo role to perfection. Against LSG, he got his first six off the second ball of the 19th over, bowled by left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan.

He went through the stumps and caught the ball. This kind of photo is very rare from MS Dhoni. The delivery was short and Dhoni hit LSG wicketkeeper KL Rahul’s head perfectly. Dhoni remained unbeaten with 28 nine-ball deliveries at a strike rate of 311.11, he hit three fours and two sixes.

Talking about the match, Chennai Super Kings put together a fifty controlled by Ravindra Jadeja to reach a strong 176 for six against Lucknow Super Giants in their Indian Premier League match here on Friday. Apart from Jadeja (57 not out, 40b, 5x4s, 1×6), Ajinkya Rahane (36, 24b, 5x4s, 1×6), Moeen Ali (30, 20b, 3x6s) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (28 not out, 9b, 3x4s, 2x6s ) also contributed useful contributions after CSK were asked to bat first.

For LSG, Krunal Pandya (2/16) was the most successful bowler.

LSG made a change when New Zealand pacer Matt Henry replaced his West Indies counterpart Shamar Joseph.

CSK made two changes to their playing eleven with Moeen Ali replacing Daryl Mitchell and Deepak Chahar replacing Shardul Thakur.

Brief scores: Chennai Super Kings: 176 for 6 in 20 overs (Ravindra Jadeja 57 not out, Ajinkya Rahane 36, Moeen Ali 30, Mahendra Singh Dhoni 28 not out; Krunal Pandya 2/16).
