FANS think a call from Saturday’s Orioles-Royals game was so bad it will speed up robot umpires.

Bally Sports Kansas City had just introduced the officiating crew when the first pitch was sent out straight to the strike zone by Cole Ragans.

It was unbelievably called a ball despite the batter swinging it and the announcers couldn’t believe it.

“The fastball is right up the middle for ball one,” came the comment.

“What?! My God! Not on the first move,” added the confused announcer.

“What part of that pitch is not a strike,” the commentator replied.

“This will speed up the robot referees, unfortunately,” commented one fan.

“I can see how it was called a ball,” added another. “The way the catcher reached out. Also, the pitcher didn’t complain. The announcer was out of line.”

The Baltimore Orioles took a 7-0 lead and managed to avoid a Kansas City comeback to win 9-7.

Ragans allowed seven runs and nine hits in 1 2/3 innings.

“It wasn’t good, I just have to move on from tonight,” he said.

“I have a start in five days that I need to prepare for, so I can’t let that bother me.”

“That second inning was probably our best offensive outing all season,” Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said.

“We faced a very good starter who had a lot of success against us and I thought we just accepted what we were given.”

Earlier this week, broadcaster Kevin Brown won over baseball fans by teaming up with an unexpected co-star.

The Orioles broadcaster was joined by an adorable puppy in the booth before an MLB game on Tuesday.

Brown was on the call when the Orioles welcomed the Minnesota Twins to Camden Yards.

“You can actually have a dog and still do your job.”

“Trying a 4-person booth tonight,” he joked.

The dogs were at the Bark at the Park game, an initiative of several teams in the championship.

“If you’ve been thinking about adopting a puppy, this is proof that you can, in fact, have a dog and still do your job,” Brown said as he opened the pre-game show holding the puppy.

“This is the best introduction to a baseball game EVER,” wrote the official MLB X account.

“Sportsball needs more puppies!” agreed another.

“Seems like a tall order,” said a third.
