The Philadelphia Phillies suffered a serious injury with the fall of shortstop Trea Turner.
Turner has suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to miss an extended period of time.

According to MLB reporter Matt Gelb, Turner is expected to be out of the Phillies lineup for several weeks.
“Trea Turner said he expects to miss at least six weeks with his hamstring injury and any return before then ‘would be a win,'” Gelb wrote.
“Obviously a big blow to the Phillies.”
He was off to a stellar start in the 2024 season, solidifying himself as one of the best infielders in MLB.
Turner was batting .347 with two home runs and nine RBI. He has scored 27 runs.
The Phillies shortstop also stole ten bases, racking up 1.6 wins above replacement on the season.
Turner’s average was seventh-best in MLB, his runs were sixth-best, and his 47 hits were second-best.
Phillies fans were devastated by the news and begged him to return early.
“This is painful to see. It’s a huge gap to fill this lineup,” said one fan.
“I had the division lead for 12 hours before God said no we can’t allow that,” said another fan.
“BRUH ARE YOU KIDDING ME,” said a third fan.
“First place was good while it lasted,” said a fourth fan.
Edmundo Sosa is expected to take on most of the work at shortstop, while Bryson Stott will sometimes move over to second base.
The team is still unsure of who will take second place in the lineup.
