MLB fans laughed after seeing a brutal mistake made by San Francisco Giants shortstop Nick Ahmed.
The sequence came late in the second inning between the Giants and the home team, Philadelphia Phillies, on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.

The Giants were up 1-0 in the inning when Phillies star Alec Bohm entered the game.
The third baseman would face Giants pitcher Logan Webb.
Bohm hit a routine ground ball toward shortstop Ahmed.
The shortstop won two Gold Gloves.
Ahmed put the ball in his glove, but his left boot appeared to get stuck in the dirt just before he threw.
The 34-year-old stumbled and threw the ball over the opposing team’s bench.
Bohm went to second base after Ahmed’s error.
He would score four batters later.
But MLB fans were more fixated on Ahmed and his mistake.
“If you haven’t had a boot stuck on a shot at least once, then you haven’t played enough,” said one.
“Wow,” wrote another.
“That was funny,” commented a third.
ESPN commentator Eduardo Perez mentioned the fact that the ground was wet from the previous day’s rain could have played a role in Ahmed’s travel and airdrop.
The Phillies won 5-4 and improved to 24-11.

During the game, Philadelphia star Bryce Harper hit a towering three-run shot from 410 feet.
The Phillies have the best record in baseball.
They have won five in a row and are 9-1 in their last 10 games.
Philadelphia will look for its fourth candy of the season on Monday night against the Giants.
Phillies ace Zach Wheeler will face San Francisco’s Mason Black in his MLB debut.
