Jeff Burroughs had two sons, Scott and Sean Burroughs, with his wife Deborah.
Sean was also a first-round pick in the MLB draft. He was selected ninth overall by the San Diego Padres in the 1998 draft.
He played on the US Olympic baseball team and helped the team win the gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
The third baseman made his MLB debut in 2002 before briefly leaving the league after being released in 2007.
He signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011 and ended his MLB career with the Minnesota Twins in 2012.

Long Beach Little League said in a statement posted on Instagram that Sean Burroughs passed away on May 9, 2024.
Before his death, he coached the Long Beach Little League baseball team.
ESPN reports that Sean was found unconscious next to his car in the parking lot of a Long Beach soccer field.
Additionally, TMZ reports that he suffered cardiac arrest. He was 43 years old.
