The incident happened during a game between the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays.

“Hey @BlueJays, I got my face smashed in by a 110 mph foul off Bo Bichette’s stick. I didn’t even catch the ball. I even stayed until the end of the game. Is there any way to hook a girl?” McGuire wrote on Twitter.

The post had nearly six million views on X as of Monday morning.

“Print a photo of you with the goose egg and ask him to sign it with the words 110mph!” one person wrote.

“Please tell me the @BlueJays are doing something for this incredible young lady? If not, THEY NEED TO DO BETTER!” was the comment from account X.

“That’s not how you would rather leave a baseball game. I hope the Jays show you some love after this,” said another person.

“Jesus, that goose egg is wild! I’m so glad you’re okay. Don’t let people hit you for being distracted, 110 MPH is too fast!” was another baseball fan’s reaction.

“Damn! Please help this lady!! And this is coming from an O’s fan. Be safe,” one shocked fan posted.

McGuire pointed out when responding to a baseball fan that she didn’t even catch the ball after the incident.

It’s certainly a stark reminder to all fans of the occasional dangers of being at a live sporting event.

The Blue Jays avoided their first sweep of the season by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 on Sunday.

Alejandro Kirk reached base three times and drove in two runs as the Blue Jays snapped a three-game losing streak.

George Springer hit an RBI double, walked twice and scored twice as Toronto cruised to a confidence-boosting victory.

Alek Manoah certainly didn’t hide his emotions, pumping his fist and letting out a roar after hitting Jonny DeLuca on a sinker for his seventh strikeout.

“I was like, ‘Hell yeah, don’t let them down,’ so I was super excited,” Manoah said.

“The energy of this crowd has been unbelievable, just trying to feed off of it all and let my emotions flow freely.

“I think it’s very important for this team. I don’t want anyone to come into our house and sweep us away.

“The most important thing was to go out there and set the tone and get a big win and get everything rolling.”

The Blue Jays now face a triple header against the Chicago White Sox.

The first of these games will be on Monday, with further meetings on Wednesday and Thursday.
