Who is Mets pitcher Jorge López’s wife Karla?

Karla López is the wife of Mets pitcher Jorge López.

The couple lived in Cayey, Puerto Rico, until the island was devastated by Hurricane Maria in 2017.

The baseball player opened up to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the harrowing experience.

He said: “We were at my wife’s parents’ house when it all happened. Destroyed everything.

“No one had a way to reach their families. All roads were blocked.”

How many children does the couple have?

Jorge and Karla López share a son. They have a son named Mikael Andrés López.

Mikael suffers from familial Mediterranean fever and Crohn’s disease, according to the Miami Herald.

As such, he spent much of his early years battling the autoimmune disease inside hospitals.

In 2021, Mikael was released from the hospital after a successful bone marrow transplant, according to MLB.

On Father’s Day 2022, Mikael was able to cheer on his father for the first time from the stands.

When did Jorge López join the New York Mets?

Jorge López signed a one-year contract with the New York Mets in 2023 and played his first game for the team in 2024.

On May 29, 2024, the pitcher was ejected after arguing with a third base umpire.

He later threw his glove into the stands as he left the field.
