NEW York Mets player Francisco Lindor wants to cast a spell on the Philadelphia Phillies when they meet in London next weekend.

But the Mets star also has another prior commitment set up by his wife.

Lindor, 30, and his team will face the Phillies at London Stadium in a two-game series on June 8 and 9.

He will cross the Atlantic with his wife Katia, whom he married in 2021, and their two daughters.

And, in addition to the two rivalry games against Philadelphia, Lindor’s London schedule is starting to get busy.

“My wife is a huge Harry Potter fan and is now taking me to a museum,” Lindor told selected UK media.

“I’m not a big fan of museums, but I’ll do whatever it takes to keep my wife happy.

“During the pandemic I was forced to watch all the Harry Potter films.

“I don’t like being a tourist, but my wife loves being a tourist.

“There are no brain cells working for me when I’m traveling with her.

“I’m going to get my passport, pick up my daughter and show up at the airport.”

Lindor trusts his wife to be the travel manager for his trips now, after his itinerary went wrong the last time he visited the UK.

“I went a few years ago,” he recalled. “I had a great experience and I loved it.

“I played cricket and I was terrible at it.

“I went to the Beatles museum, I went to a Liverpool game and on the way back I missed the train and then I missed the flight.

“I’m looking forward to the whole experience, but with two kids.

“My oldest daughter is 3 – I don’t think she will understand everything, but she will know that daddy is playing in a different place.”

Home runs and boomsticks

MLB is back in London for the third time this summer when the Philadelphia Phillies take on the New York Mets.

The London Stadium will transform from a football field to a baseball field for the June 8 and 9 spectacle.

Fans attending games can indulge in some extravagant stadium menu items, like boomstick nachos (pictured) and a 2-foot boomstick hot dog.

The New York Yankees won both games in 2019 against the rival Boston Red Sox.

And the Chicago Cubs split their series with the St Louis Cardinals when the teams meet in 2023.

The Mets face their National League East division rivals in their two-game series in London.

Lindor thinks it will be a “turbulent” atmosphere between rival fans, but he doesn’t want a fight.

“If I was a fighter and we were fighting every day for 162 games,” he laughed.

“This is too much. It is not my style.

“I’m more of a person who’s going to enjoy the day and be happy and grateful to have a professional place every day as my job.

“Vibes are contagious and we all try to feel each other’s vibe to make the most of our days, that’s for sure.”

The Mets star will also participate in two games against the Philadelphia Phillies at London Stadium.
