But he has more strings to his bow and has proven that he can also keep his cool when it comes to dessert.

During a fan event at the Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball game on Saturday, Chestnut made fun of four pints of ice cream in one minute.

The sheer volume of food is impressive enough, but the 40-year-old also appears immune to brain freeze.

Witnesses couldn’t believe their eyes as they watched the competitive eating legend knock it out of the park.

A man dressed as a hot dog was given the task of livening up the crowd and could be seen with his hands on his head the entire time.

“How is he alive?” a shocked spectator asked below the viral video in X.

“Peak of athletics. Perfect shape,” added another.

“The really big competitors always lose. Joey Chestnut is the GOAT of competitive eating. He’s amazing and disgusting at the same time,” a third posted.

“National treasure,” commented a fourth.

Chestnut also inhaled 36 Walleye Bites in another minute of impressive feasting.

Their displays were part of an Eat & Greet with fans that raised funds for the Toledo-based nonprofit. Connecting Kids to Meals.

He also threw the first pitch forward in the Mud Hens’ 3-2 victory over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Chestnut revealed that he earned well over $500,000 last year as he continues to make a lucrative career out of competitive eating.

He told The US Sun that his annual income increased in 2023.

“I was very lucky – the sponsors like me. The whole thing is unbelievable,” Chestnut said.

Home runs and boomsticks

MLB is back in London for the third time this summer when the Philadelphia Phillies take on the New York Mets.

The London Stadium will transform from a football field to a baseball field for the June 8th and 9th spectacle.

Fans attending games can indulge in some extravagant stadium menu items, like boomstick nachos (pictured) and a 2-foot boomstick hot dog.

The New York Yankees won both games in 2019 against the rival Boston Red Sox.

And the Chicago Cubs split their series with the St Louis Cardinals when the teams meet in 2023.

“I went to engineering school and never thought I would be able to earn food as my main income.

“I feel like I did better [than in 2022].”

Chestnut used to work in construction management and competitive food events were a sideline.

But he managed to make them his full-time job.

Chestnut’s income is split between contest winnings, paid appearances and sponsorship deals.
