HOUSTON Astros star Kyle Tucker left fans worried after fouling out his leg yesterday.
The 27-year-old outfielder fell to the ground and left the 7-4 victory over St. Louis.
But Astros manager Joe Espada shared a positive update on the hit.
Tucker suffers from a bruise on his right shin every day, despite spending several minutes attracting attention.
He fell to his knees after the ball ricocheted off his leg just below the knee.
The slugger limped a few steps toward first base and put his batting helmet back on, but was soon replaced by slugger Mauricio Dubon.
“We took some X-rays and nothing broke or anything,” Tucker said after the game.
“So I’m sure we’ll do some more stuff tomorrow and everything. Right now it’s hurting, but it’s okay, we’ll get through it.”
Tucker is batting .266 and is tied for second in MLB with 19 home runs.
According to Chandler Rome of The Athletic, Espada said it’s too early to say whether he’ll end up on the injured list.
But they say Tucker is in good spirits, despite needing crutches.
He was involved in a similar incident in April last year.
In a game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Tucker also swung hard at a pitch that slid in and fouled.
The 27-34 Astros and Cardinals face off again today.
Elsewhere, the Washington Nationals cut ties with outfielder Victor Robles yesterday.
Robles received several attempts to establish himself but was never able to make a lasting impression.
Robles was designated for assignment on Monday to make room for Lane Thomas, who is returning from the injured list.
Home runs and boomsticks

MLB is back in London for the third time this summer when the Philadelphia Phillies take on the New York Mets.
The London Stadium will transform from a football field to a baseball field for the June 8th and 9th spectacle.
Fans attending games can indulge in some extravagant menu items like boomstick nachos (pictured) and a 2-foot boomstick hot dog.
The New York Yankees won both games in 2019 against the rival Boston Red Sox.
And the Chicago Cubs split their series with the St Louis Cardinals when the teams meet in 2023.
“It was definitely exciting,” coach Dave Martinez said.
“Those are always the hardest days when you have to lose a player, especially a guy like Vic who I’ve known for many years.
“All I can say to him is that I wish him the best.”
Robles won the World Series with the Nationals in 2019, as well as finishing sixth in Rookie of the Year voting.
In his best season, Robles was a .255 hitter with 17 home runs and 65 RBIs to his name.
