MAJOR League Baseball is set to bring a taste of the American summer to London this weekend.

But the gastronomic menu on offer will offer flavors from around the world.

Fish and chips and samosas are just some of the items on sale this weekend at the London Stadium.

And they’ll be accompanied by some classics from across the Atlantic – as well as a giant hot dog.

The New York Mets face the Philadelphia Phillies on June 8th and 9th in this year’s MLB London series.

The games will take place at the London Stadium, in the east of the city.

The east end of London is known for British classics, but also Indian food.

Lamb samosas with onion bhajis and tamarind chutney will be available for purchase at three food outlets.

Fans of premium hospitality will receive a “chippy tea”, also known as fish and chips, upon arrival.

In terms of American offerings, the two-foot “Boomstick hot dog” topped with roast beef and chili with jalapenos, nacho cheese and sour cream is at the top of the menu.

The 24-inch beast comes in at around 2,500 calories after the bread and all the toppings are added.

There is also the “Boomstick nachos” option, which is a 2-foot bed of tortilla chips with cheese, braised beef, chili beans, jalapenos, sour cream and onions.

The menu also features flavors from New York and Philadelphia.

A New York pastrami will be sold in honor of the Big Apple.

While the Philadelphia dish is, of course, a Philadelphia cheesesteak.

A “Knuckleball” burger consisting of two beef patties with pulled pork, cheese and bacon will also be on the table.

Home runs and boomsticks

MLB is back in London for the third time this summer when the Philadelphia Phillies take on the New York Mets.

The London Stadium will transform from a football field to a baseball field for the June 8th and 9th spectacle.

Fans attending games can indulge in some extravagant stadium menu items, like boomstick nachos (pictured) and a 2-foot boomstick hot dog.

The New York Yankees won both games in 2019 against the rival Boston Red Sox.

And the Chicago Cubs split their series with the St Louis Cardinals when the teams meet in 2023.

There’s also buttermilk fried chicken and bacon, served with mayonnaise and coleslaw on a savory doughnut.

Meanwhile, local options also include English sausages, pulled pork rolls and triple burgers.

Organizers also added 10 new bars around the London Stadium from last year’s series.

The popular beers, which sold out quickly in 2023, also return this weekend.

The Mets-Phillies series is the third to be held in London since 2019.

The New York Yankees faced the Boston Red Sox in the first games in London five years ago.

And last year the Chicago Cubs faced the St Louis Cardinals at the east London venue.
