NEW York Yankees star Juan Soto’s removal from Thursday night’s game has fans worried over injury fears.

The game was interrupted by a 56-minute rain delay, after which Soto was removed from the lineup.
He was supposed to lead off in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Instead, his spot in the lineup was taken by outfielder Alex Verdugo.
In the outfield, pinch hitter Aaron Judge moved to Soto’s spot in right and Verdugo took over in left.
Soto, acquired by the Yankees in December 2023, walked twice in three appearances before his departure.
There did not appear to be an on-field incident that prompted his departure, although he threw two throws to second base in the fifth inning.
An announcement was made via the Yankees’ X account, formerly Twitter, citing discomfort in his left forearm as the reason for Soto’s early departure.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Soto said he has been feeling discomfort for nearly two weeks but is “trying hard.”
Soto said he doesn’t feel any discomfort when pitching or hitting.
But he shared plans to take images on Friday.
Many Yankees fans panicked about what this could mean for a team that is off to a stellar start to the 2024 season.
“I’m crying myself to sleep,” replied one fan.
“My heart just dropped,” wrote another.
“Dear God, please be okay,” said another person.
“This is not good. It’s not good at all,” added another.
Soto, who has started all 64 Yankees games this season, helped lead a team that secured its eighth consecutive victory on Thursday.
He is batting .318 with 17 home runs and 53 RBIs this season.
Along with Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, Soto’s power at the plate propelled the Yankees to the best record in the American League.
And that’s without their star pitcher.

The team hopes to see the return of reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole later this month.
Cole, 33, was diagnosed with nerve inflammation and edema in early March and has been closed since then.
In his first rehab outing on Tuesday night, Cole threw 45 pitches and felt fine afterward.
“It was a good day yesterday, very encouraged,” he said ESPN.
