Weatherspoon, 58, was visibly upset as he arrived at the press conference room.

She repeatedly interrupted reporters mid-question and banged the table with her hands.

The WNBA icon was asked twice if she was considering changing her fifth starter.

“I’m not thinking about that,” she replied for the first time.

“I’m thinking about going out and winning games. We’ll find out.”

Weatherspoon faced a similar question three minutes later.

A reporter asked if the upcoming matchups against the Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings could be a “probe” to assess whether changes need to be made.

The Sky head coach then hit the table again, stood up and left the podium, ending his press after about four minutes.

The reaction surprised many WNBA fans.

“She is so angry. But I didn’t think the question was irrational,” one of them wrote on X.

“I thought this would be a crazy non-basketball question haha,” added another.

“T-Spoon might not want to hear this, but she might have to do something about the starting lineup,” said a third.

“For the last question, all she has to say is… I’ll find out,” one wrote.

“She doesn’t need to be rude.”

How the WNBA works

The 2024 WNBA season features 12 teams, with the regular season running from May 14 to September 9.

Each team plays 40 regular season games – four against five teams from the same conference and two teams from the other conference, and three games against the remaining four teams.

The top eight teams in the league standings qualify for the playoffs – regardless of which conference they are in.

The playoffs will use a best-of-three format in the first round, while the WNBA semifinals and finals will be best-of-five.

This season also includes a month-long break for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Las Vegas Aces are defending back-to-back WNBA champions.

Mystics guard Ariel Atkins recorded a game-high 29 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists.

Reese finished the match with 10 points, 14 rebounds and two assists.

The next day, the No. 7 overall pick seemed eager to move on from the disappointing loss.

“New day”, she posted in X.

“Another day to improve and another opportunity to play the game we love. GEAUX SKY!”

The Sky fell to 4-8 on the season after loss to Washington.
