MLB commentator shouts ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ after controversial referee Angel Hernandez call

MLB umpire Angel Hernandez is causing a stir by making horrible calls behind home plate.

Hernandez is the most controversial umpire in MLB and has already left his mark on the 2024 season.

The umpire had another terrible moment behind the plate on Friday in a matchup between the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, and the announcers were not happy.

With rookie Ranger Wyatt Langford ready to bat, Hernandez struck him out in a horrific sequence.

Langford started the count 2-0 and appeared to be in control until Hernandez lost sight of the strike zone.

The next three pitches, all outside the strike zone, were ruled strikes rather than balls and Langford left with his head down.

“You have got to be kidding me!” Rangers Bally Sports Southwest announcer Dave Raymond said.

“What in the world?!”

Analyst Dave Valle also chimed in, saying, “That’s just bad. Three shots in a row way off target.”

“This is so obvious. It was terrible.”

Raymond continued his rant about the terrible strike zone and dropped a hilarious line during his rage.

“Well boys we better go dancing tonight, Angel has a dinner reservation” he said.

The controversy isn’t even Hernandez’s first in the past week.

He was in the middle of a controversial third strike call in the Yankees-Blue Jays game on Sunday, during which the pitch should not have counted because the pitcher was never named.

The field was also a few inches high and outside the attacking zone.

However, Hernandez counted the pitch as a hit anyway and called second baseman Gleyber Torres out.

In the Rangers and Yankees games, Hernandez’s appeals did not affect the final outcome, as both teams won the game.
