BUILT in 1910, Rickwood Field is the oldest professional baseball park in the United States.

On June 20, 2024, the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals will face off at Rickwood Field.
The game is a tribute to the late Giants center fielder Willie Mays.
The game will also honor the history of the Negro American League.
On June 18 of the aforementioned year, Mays died at the age of 93.
“Willie Mays took his brilliance from the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro American League to the historic Giants franchise,” MLB announced before the game.
“From coast to coast in New York and San Francisco, Willie inspired generations of players and fans as the game grew and truly earned its place as our national pastime.
“All of Major League Baseball is in mourning today as we gather in the same stadium where a career and legacy like no other began.”
Previously, Rickwood was the home of the Birmingham Black Barons.
Before MLB drafted Mays to the Giants, he played three seasons with the Black Barons.
Days before his death, Mays confirmed that he would not attend the tribute.
“I won’t be able to go to Birmingham this year, but I will watch the game here in the Bay Area,” the World Series champion told Chronicle of San Francisco.
“My heart goes out to all of you who are honoring the Negro Leagues players who should always be remembered, including all my Black Barons teammates.
“I want to thank Major League Baseball, the Giants, the Cardinals and all the fans who will be at Rickwood or watching the game.
“It will be a special day and I hope the children enjoy it and are inspired by it.”
