BASEBALL Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson recently spoke out about the extreme levels of racism he experienced during his playing years.
On Thursday, MLB made history when the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals played the league’s season opener at Rickwood Field.
The historic stadium located in Birmingham Alabama used to serve as the playing field for the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro League and
Jackson, who was on the media team commentating the game, reflected on what it was like returning to Rickwood, where he played as a member of the Birmingham A’s in 1967 after being drafted second overall.
“Coming back here is not easy,” said the MLB legend.
