New York Mets star Pete Alonso is grateful for Grimace’s help in sparking his recent winning streak.

The Mets won seven straight games after the McDonald’s mascot threw out the first pitch before their 10-4 victory over the Miami Marlins on June 12.

The streak ended with a 5-3 loss to the Texas Rangers six days later.

Still, it helped New York improve its ranking, bringing it just two wins shy of the .500 mark.

Grimace’s impact on the Mets’ season continues to be a topic of discussion.

During a fan question segment, Alonso, 29, was asked if he would rather hang out with Frank the Tank or the giant purple mascot while on the microphone during Sunday’s 5-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

And the first baseman singled out Grimace before offering some kind words to the bizarre creature.

“Probably Grimace,” the first baseman said during ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.

“I mean, Grimace got us excited.

“If we can keep Grimace around and keep playing good ball, good things will happen.”

The SNB announcers then wanted to know if Alonso could already “feel the magic” during Grimace’s first pitch or if it took some time for him to manifest himself.

“It takes time for certain things to happen,” the Mets star said.

“I mean, these seven games didn’t all happen at once.

“Winning seven in a row was really good.

“We’ve been playing very well away from home so far.”

“It felt good to play well. That’s for sure.”

During the victory over the Cubs, Mets pitcher Edwin Diaz was ejected for having a sticky substance on his right hand.

Diaz later said he does “the same thing every time” before casting, using a mixture of resin, sweat and dirt.

“That’s what I was explaining to them, but they said it was very difficult,” he saidthrough ESPN.

Crew chief third base umpire Vic Carapazza said in a pool report that it was “definitely not resin and sweat” on Diaz’s hand.

“We checked thousands of them,” Carapazza said.

“I know what that feeling is. That was really sticky.”
