BASEBALL star Nolan Schanuel suffered a painful and bizarre injury that forced him off the field.
The Los Angeles Angels first baseman was hit by a ball just above the thigh.
The incident happened during Saturday’s matchup against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
And Schanuel, 22, was forced to leave the game after feeling pain.
His manager Ron Washington confirmed that he suffered a “testicular contusion.”
“It’s not funny, but he’s fine,” Washington added.
But Schanuel was forced to miss the series finale against the Red Sox while recovering from the painful injury.
The incident happened in the top of the third inning of Saturday’s game in Boston.
Schanuel struck out on a Cooper Criswell pitch with the Angels trailing 6-0.
The ball deflected off the 22-year-old’s stick and hit him right between the legs.
He then took a few moments to compose himself at the side of the mound.
Schanuel played briefly but left the game in the bottom of the third inning.
According to reports, he was feeling better on Sunday morning, but was unable to line up for the next game.
Schanuel was a first-round draft pick in 2023 and made his MLB debut last August.
He reached base in all 29 games he played in and extended that streak to 36 this year.
But the hitting streak was retrospectively halted in the 30th after one of his singles was ruled an error.
The Angels lost Saturday’s game 7-2 after winning the series opener 7-0 in Boston.
