Kay took aim at SNY’s Mets booth after they ran a promo on their show Monday night.

The Subway Series between the Mets and Yankees kicked off earlier this week at Citi Field.

SNY ran an ad on ESPN radio in New York during The Michael Kay Show cheering on his team of Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling.

“What I’m going to say now might get me into some trouble,” Kay told her co-hosts Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg on Wednesday.

“O [SNY] the ad, running during the last intermission, said ‘Enjoy the Subway Series with the best booth in baseball’.

“I mean, do you expect me to just accept this without doing anything?

“I think our booth is the best in baseball.

“You know who the host of this show is. I’ll take O’Neill, Cone and I instead of Gar, Ron and Keith.

“I mean, they’re great, but so is our booth. The way you want people to watch is to say, ‘Attend the best booth in baseball?’

“I’m sorry, I think we’re the best tentpole in baseball.”

A recent survey of Horrible ad saw the Mets broadcast team ranked second among MLB fans for the 2023 season.

Kay and her team at YES Network placed 24th.

“The Mets booths, both on radio and TV, are a MILLION better than what the Yankees offer. And I’m a fan of pinstripes,” said one fan on X.

“Sorry, Michael. Saying what pitch happened and sitting in silence for 20 seconds until the next pitch doesn’t make you the best at baseball,” argued another.

“I don’t even think Yankees fans will defend this haha,” added a third.

Five Major MLB Rule Changes in 2024

1. The pitch clock is reduced from 20 to 18 seconds with runners on base. It will remain at 15 seconds with the bases empty.

2. When a pitching change is made, the inning clock will reset to 2:00 instead of 2:15 as happened last year.

3. Teams will only be able to visit four mounds per game in 2024, compared to five last season.

4. Defenders and defenders blocking bases will be called for obstruction.

5. The runners’ lane from home plate to first base has been widened to include the dirt between the grass and the white line.

On the field, it was a mismatch as the red-hot Mets defeated the Yankees in Queens.

After a 9-7 victory on Tuesday, the Mets clawed their way to a 12-2 victory in Game 2.

In both games, the Orange and Blue hit seven home runs, 21 runs and 24 hits.

The win propels the team to .500 at 38-38, a feat that just a few weeks ago seemed nearly impossible.

The Mets had an impressive June, in sharp contrast to the struggling Yankees.

Aaron Boone’s team has now lost four consecutive series and 8 of the last 10 games.

“You don’t like getting kicked in the teeth,” Boone said after Wednesday’s loss.

“It was a terrible two weeks for us. But it’s part of it. We know this is coming.

“Adversity will hit you. We’ve been hit a little bit now.”
