Before the game, Nimmo spoke to journalists and revealed that, on Monday morning, he passed out in his hotel room and hit his head on the floor.

Nimmo said he woke up to use the bathroom at 5:15 am

He had cramps while in the bathroom and went to the sink to drink water.

The Mets veteran passed out and when he woke up he was bleeding and decided to call the team’s trainers.

“I was definitely scared and confused when I woke up,” Nimmo said.

Nimmo went to the hospital for testing and arrived at the Nationals stadium in Washington.

He had a bandage on his forehead and didn’t need stitches.

Nimmo expects to be in Tuesday’s lineup and thinks the cramp caused him to lose consciousness.

“When I cramped, my blood pressure probably went up and lifted me up,” he said.

“And then when I wasn’t feeling well, I started to get a little anxious, ‘OK, now what do I do? Where do I need to go,’ and all this kind of stuff started to enter the mind.”

Nimmo said he had never fainted in his life before Monday.

He had a CT scan and an electrocardiogram test which came back negative.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Nimmo cut his forehead but did not suffer a concussion.

“He passed all the tests this morning,” said Mendoza. “We wanted to make sure we weren’t missing anything. Luckily everything came back negative, so I guess we were lucky.”
