Bryan Reynolds and Rowdy Tellez crushed two final Grand Slams as all of the Pirates’ runs came on home runs.

Starting pitcher Paul Skenes kept the Mets lineup in check with a dazzling display on the mound.

The 22-year-old left the game in the seventh to receive a standing ovation with a 4-2 lead after racking up eight strikeouts.

Reynolds hit an inning-ending grand slam off Mets reliever Jake Diekman.

Tellez added to the Mets’ misery by hitting another during a calamitous six-run eighth.

It was just the fifth time in franchise history that the Pirates hit seven home runs in a single game.

And they played so many in the stands that the team ran out of fireworks to celebrate.

“This. Is. Insane,” read a message on PNC Park’s jumbotron in the ninth inning.

“We saw seven home runs tonight. This is the fifth time in Pirates history we’ve done this.

“So many homers we ran out of fireworks.”

‘Grow up some courage, man,’ enrages New York Mets announcer after fan at Wrigley Field gives in to ‘a lot of peer pressure’

“We hit so many home runs that we ran out of fireworks,” the Pirates said posted in X after the game, adding: “We’re serious.”

“Actually amazing,” laughed one fan in response.

“Tonight should be reason enough to be buyers at the trade deadline,” said another.

“This is what America is about,” joked a third.

“Paul Skenes released it and that’s not the main attraction,” a fourth added.

DUNNE AND SKENES’ SUMMER OF LOVE

Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes managed to keep their relationship a secret before finally going public last summer.

The two met at LSU, but it’s unclear when they started dating.

Rumors of a romance began when Dunne watched LSU win the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, last summer.

And Dunne posted selfies from Fort Myers, Fla., where Skenes was playing.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and began his professional career playing in the minor leagues in the Sunshine State.

The final clue came when Dunne posed in a Pirates cap before the pair finally went public.

Skenes brought the heat by once again showing off his 100 mph fastball.

But it was his slider that proved too difficult for the Mets to handle, as his strikeouts for the season improved to 78.

That’s why it’s good to have five pitches,” Skenes said. ESPN.

“Because if one isn’t there, we can launch with the rest of them.

“The fastball wasn’t there at the beginning of the game. So I settled for the other things.”
