MLB rookie sensation Paul Skenes’ girlfriend Olivia Dunne threw an impromptu party to celebrate his All-Star selection.
The 22-year-old pitcher was included on the National League roster for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game.
He is one of 32 rookie All-Stars and 19 players under the age of 27 – showing how baseball is becoming younger.
Social media superstar Dunne, 21, is Skenes’ biggest fan and organized a celebration for him.
She wrote All Star on balloons, lying on a pizza and a bottle of soda in a photo shared to her Instagram Stories.
Skenes could be the NL team’s starting pitcher.
He is the first person to grade this season after being selected with the No. 1 overall pick.
“This is cool and I’m so grateful for all of you,” Skenes told Pittsburgh Pirates teammates in the clubhouse after being briefed by manager Derek Shelton.
“I’ve been part of the team since the first day I’ve been here.
“I couldn’t have done it without you guys.”
Skenes continued to rewrite the record books in his debut season.
The starter struck out eight batters as the Pirates beat the New York Mets 14-2 last week.
He has recorded seven or more strikeouts in nine of his first 10 starts for the franchise, per SI.
This feat has never been achieved by any MLB rookie pitcher.
Skenes’ fastball has proven to be a notable weapon, with the LSU product regularly throwing over 100 mph.
He praised Dunne for helping him on his initial baseball journey.
“It’s been great. She’s helped me in so many ways in terms of managing all the excitement,” he said.
DUNNE AND SKENES’ SUMMER OF LOVE

Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes managed to keep their relationship a secret before finally going public last summer.
The two met at LSU, but it’s unclear when they started dating.
Rumors of a romance began when Dunne watched LSU win the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, last summer.
And Dunne posted selfies from Fort Myers, Fla., where Skenes was playing.
He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and began his professional career playing in the minor leagues in the Sunshine State.
The final clue came when Dunne posed in a Pirates cap before the pair finally went public.
“How to manage everything that goes with being a professional athlete, she kind of lived it.”
Former gymnast Dunne’s future is up in the air as she decides whether to return to LSU for her senior year.
“So I have eligibility for the fifth year, which I haven’t decided yet,” she told New York Post Office. “I’m thinking about it
“I don’t think I’ll try for the Olympics or anything after, since I once competed Team USA and I closed that chapter and went to LSU.”
Dunne attended Michael Rubin’s lavish Fourth of July party in the Hamptons last week.
