MINNESOTA Twins star Carlos Correa lost big-money contracts in 2022, but he’s not upset about how things turned out.

Two seasons ago, Correa was set to earn more than $300 million with the San Francisco Giants on a 13-year contract.

But the deal quickly fell apart just three hours before his introductory press conference.

Correa was then offered a 12-year contract with the New York Mets worth more than $300 million.

But the contract ended due to problems with injuries to the star’s left ankle.

The 29-year-old shortstop ended up signing a six-year, $200 million contract with the Twins, with four option years.

Even though Correa lost more than $100 million, he couldn’t be happier at the moment.

“This is the best thing that could have happened to me and my family,” said Correa USA TODAY Sports.

“I don’t know what other places would be like, but this is a great place with a great family atmosphere.

“And great people around you who care about you,” he told the outlet.

“These are people I feel comfortable with and have grown to love.”

Despite missing 17 games this season due to an intercostal strain, Correa is on pace to have his best season as a Minnesota Twin.

Correa is batting .305 with 45 RBI and 11 home runs with an .833 OPS.

The star shortstop also takes advantage of the flexibility his contract with the Twins gives him.

“You know, the six years and the options seem so much better than the 13 years, with kids growing up so fast and demanding so much attention from them,” Correa said.

Correa added that a shorter contract with options allows him to decide whether to retire or continue playing.

Minnesota has had a good year so far and holds a 52-39 record.

They are currently in second place in the AL Central division behind the Cleveland Guardians, who have a 57-33 record.

If the playoffs started tomorrow, Minnesota would make it as they hold the second spot in the AL Wild Card.

As for the teams that ended up not signing Correa, the story is different.

The Mets are in third place in the NL East division with a 45-45 record.

Meanwhile, the Giants are fourth in the NL West division with a 45-47 record.
