The YES Network suffered a major on-air audio issue that enraged New York Yankees fans on Tuesday.
Viewers complained that the sound was heavily distorted during New York’s away matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Some viewers said the “eerie” sound made them wonder if the Yankees game was broadcast via speakerphone or PA system.
Others added that it evoked memories of sporting competitions from decades ago.
“Feels like I’m listening to @RealMichaelKay broadcast a baseball game in 1943,” one fan posted on X.
“Is anyone else’s audio for @YESNetwork out? Or is my TV just doing weird things?” another asked.
“Why does my @YESNetwork sound like an AM radio,” said a third.
“It’s 2024 and it feels like I’m listening to a radio broadcast from 1942. Get a grip,” one wrote.
The problem lasted several minutes and appeared to be resolved around the fourth inning.
Shortly thereafter, the Yankees gave their fans more reason to be upset.
They allowed Ernie Clement and Daulton Varsho to score on Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s hit late in the fourth, t, putting the Blue Jays ahead 3-1.
After beating the Toronto team 3-1 on Monday, New York entered the game with a 12-5 record, while their rivals were 9-8.
The two teams will wrap up the three-game series on Wednesday.
Three days later, the Yankees will honor their longtime radio play-by-play announcer, John Sterling.
After 36 years as the voice of the Yankees and a 64-year career in broadcasting, Sterling announced his retirement on Monday.
“I am a very blessed human being,” the veteran sportscaster said in a statement.
“I managed to do what I wanted, broadcasting for 64 years.
“As a boy growing up in New York as a Yankees fan, I was able to broadcast the Yankees for 36 years.
“It’s all for my benefit and I leave very, very happy. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again on Saturday.”
Atlético reported that Sterling’s retirement is linked to health issues.
The sportscaster has called 5,420 regular season games and 211 postseason Yankees games.
A special ceremony honoring Sterling will take place before New York’s matchup with the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday.
