Myers was sent off after a heated confrontation with referee Derek Thomas.

Trailing 10-6 in the top of the eighth, Myers claimed he held on after swinging the bat at a Lucas Sims pitch.

Thomas claimed Myers came around and gave him a brutal three-pointer.

Furious, Myers began shouting in the referee’s direction, removing his helmet as the argument spread.

The 28-year-old headed to the changing rooms but found frustration getting the best of him.

“I hit the door with my foot and I didn’t think I kicked that hard, but I fractured my foot,” he admitted on Sunday, via ESPN.

“It’s tough [to control myself],” Myers added to Bally Sports Florida.

“But it’s something you need to do as a professional. I think this is the last missing piece in my game.

“Being balanced, maintaining balance and really not letting emotions take over and losing me like I did.”

Myers is now ready for a long stretch in what is shaping up to be a nightmare season for the Marlins.

He added that “there was no dislocation” and that the outfielder should therefore not need surgery.

“He’s going to miss some time,” Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said.

“A fracture. That’s never easy. It’s hard for him.

“There are a lot of opportunities with the Jazz [Chisom Jr.] having a lot of play on the field.

“[Myers] I would have more playing time.”

Myers will see a specialist on Monday to get a full diagnosis of the self-inflicted injury.

The Texas native made his MLB debut in 2023 after a stint in the minor leagues.

In his second year in the majors, Myers is hitting .265 with two home runs and 14 RBIs.

The Marlins made the MLB playoffs last season but faced a difficult 2024.

They have a dismal 33-63 record before the All-Star break.
