Derek Jeter interrupts Colin Cowherd live on Fox Sports as MLB legend repeats ‘no, no, no’ after Paul Skenes question

MLB legend Derek Jeter fact-checked Colin Cowherd in a strange live TV exchange.

The 50-year-old New York Yankees icon joined FS1’s The Herd on Monday for a preview of the MLB All-Star Game.

The conversation quickly turned to Paul Skenes, the Pittsburgh Pirates rookie pitcher who has been destroying the majors in recent weeks.

Cowherd made a point of drawing comparisons between Skenes and legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan.

“Paul Skenes, Pirates. Dominant guy”, Cowherd he said for Jeter.

“Overwhelming. Obviously, you were in the Nolan Ryan era…”

“No, no, no, no, no, I never stood up to Nolan,” Jeter interrupted with a chuckle.

“Slowly, no. Slowly. I was too far behind Nolan. Too far behind Nolan.”

Cowherd quickly moved forward with the segment, but fans were left unnerved by Jeter’s angry response.

“Best thing I’ve seen Jeter do since retirement,” laughed one fan on X.

“Brother couldn’t even look up baseball facts before the interview,” said another.

“Was that an attempt at humor by Colin? Or was he actually in the wrong? Jeter and Nolan Ryan weren’t even close to joking with each other,” asked a third.

“It was only a season or two where Jeter acted like he wasn’t close to playing with Nolan Ryan!” he struck out a fourth.

The exchange featured bizarre footage of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa throwing deep passes.

“Why isn’t anyone talking about a video of Tua randomly appearing?” laughed one fan.

“I love the ‘highlight’ of football in the middle”, he laughed for a second.

Ryan played 27 seasons in the MLB during a career that spanned four different decades.

He made his debut in 1966 and released his final season in 1993.

Jeter debuted for the Yankees two years later in 1995 before establishing himself as a starter a season later.

The 50-year-old would become one of baseball’s most iconic shortstops.

Jeter won five World Series titles with the Yankees before retiring in 2014.

Since hanging up his spikes, the MLB Hall of Famer has launched a career as an analyst and was previously chief executive of the Miami Marlins.
