The Atlanta Braves lost one of their star players to injury after a freak accident.
Second baseman Ozzie Albies is expected to miss eight weeks after breaking his wrist.

Albies appeared to injure his wrist while trying to catch a player stealing second base.
After tagging the player, Albies recoiled in pain and was subsequently removed from the game.
X-rays revealed that the veteran second baseman suffered a fractured left wrist and will be placed on the injured list.
“It’s not good,” coach Brian Snitker said.
Albies is a three-time All Star and one of the main voices of the Braves clubhouse.
He was having a decent year, hitting .255 with eight home runs and 46 RBIs.
The Braves will now need to find a hitter to fill the second spot in the lineup, with the Albies possibly missing the remainder of the season.
In a subsequent move due to Albies’ injury, the Braves called up infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr.
They also added free agent Whit Merrifield to bolster their injured roster.
Merrifield was released by the Phillies after slashing .199/.277/.295 with three home runs and 11 RBI.
The 35-year-old has struggled to get things going this year, but is a good veteran presence to add in Albies’ absence.
The Braves have battled injuries all year and have been overwhelmed by the level of talent missing time.
“I mean, it gets to the point where, you know, it’s a little over the top here,” Snitker said.
“I just can’t cover it. Depth will cover it to a certain extent, but after a while, it’s difficult.”

The Braves lost their ace, Spencer Strider, to Tommy John surgery after just two games in April.
His second ace, Max Fried, went on the injured list just days before Albies with nerve inflammation.
And reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. tore his ACL early in the season and will miss the entire year.
Despite all these injuries, the Braves still hold the top Wild Card spot in the National League.
They are 1.5 games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals and 4.0 games ahead of the New York Mets in the standings, but they will need to weather these injuries.
