BASEBALL icon Derek Jeter’s first car was a Datsun 310 with three broken door handles.

Since then, the New York Yankees legend has built an insane $4 million car collection that includes a Bugatti, Aston Martin, and a one-of-a-kind Ferrari Enzo.

Jeter has come a long way since growing up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with his modest Datsun.

“The only [handle] that worked was the passenger door on the driver’s side”, he told Barron.

Here’s a look at Jeter’s epic fleet of cars.

Mitsubishi 3000

The first car Jeter bought after being signed by the Yankees at age 18 was a red Mitsubishi 3000GT sports car.

However, when the rising baseball star went to buy a car with his friends, the salesman told Jeter he couldn’t afford it.

The car was on the market for US$26,000.

“We all kind of looked at each other,” said former teammate Chris Heaps remembered.

“He obviously didn’t know who Derek Jeter was.”

LARGE WAGONEER JEEP

In 2022, Jeter and his wife Hannah signed a multi-year deal to promote the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

The three-row luxury SUV costs around $110,000.

As parents of four children, the Jeters often drive the Grand Wagoneer on family excursions.

“We wouldn’t be doing this partnership if we weren’t actually using the car,” Jeter told Barron’s.

“Because I couldn’t sit here and say I love a two-seater sports car. It wouldn’t be right.

“My life right now is we have a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old and a 10-month-old, and they are in the back with their baby gear and toys and strollers.

“This type of vehicle is perfect for us.”

MERCEDES-MAYBACH 62

Jeter was often seen driving his Mercedes during Yankees spring training in Tampa, Florida.

Costing around US$500,000, it was the best luxury sedan of the 2000s.

The car, designed to be driven by drivers, is elongated to maximize rear comfort.

Rear seat features include intercom, power shades, panoramic sunroof, footrests, tables and TVs.

FERRARI ENZO

By far the most exclusive car in Jeter’s garage, with only 498 built.

The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.

The luxury supercar is on the market for a whopping $3.5 million.

The Enzo is named after the founder of Ferrari – Enzo Ferrari.

BUGATTI VEYRON

The Bugatti Veyron was the fastest production car in the world when it was launched, with a top speed of 400 km/h.

Its name is a tribute to Pierre Veyron, Bugatti test driver and racing driver.

With an 8.0-liter W16 engine and four turbochargers, it can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

The luxury car sells for around $1.7 million.

ROLLS-ROYCE GHOST

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is the ultimate status symbol, combining luxury with technology.

Costing around US$460,000, it has a 6.8-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

It has a top speed of 155 mph, but it’s designed more for luxurious driving than speed.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom comes with power-adjustable seats with massage, a sofa-style rear seat and a refrigerated console compartment.
