Pippen chose the Wolverines from his final list, which included Cal, Florida, Stanford and Texas A&M.

The 19-year-old revealed that he chose Michigan because of the size of the school as well as the characteristics that could propel him to the next stage of his basketball career.

“I like the feel of the campus and the school,” Pippen told ESPN.

“I wanted to be at a big school.

“They can help me achieve my ultimate goal of making it to the NBA.”

The 6-foot-5 guard Pippen attended Sierra Canyon High School.

He was a breakout star in his prep career and will likely be ranked in the final ESPN 100 rankings for the 2024 class.

Pippen has a similar story to his brother, Scotty Pippen Jr., who became a star at Vanderbilt after being under-recruited out of high school.

Scotty played in 21 games for the Memphis Grizzlies this season.

Justin revealed that his family supported his decision to play for Michigan, which will have a first-year head coach in Dusty May.

‘Being calm didn’t work,’ says Stephen A. Smith as ESPN analyst tells LeBron to ‘make things personal’ in NBA playoffs

“They let me make my own decision,” Justin said. “They know he’s great academically. They’ve both talked to Coach May.”

His father, Scottie, went to Central Arkansas College from 1983 to 1987.

He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 1987 NBA Draft and the rest was history.

Scottie was alongside NBA icon Michael Jordan as the two won six NBA titles with the Bulls and were part of the 1990s dynasty.

During his NBA career, the 6-foot-5 small forward made six All-Star teams.

Scottie averaged 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.0 steals in 17 NBA seasons.

He received $110 million in career earnings.

In 2010, Scottie was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.
