NBA reporter Chris Haynes knows his job can be difficult, but he had the freedom to do it thanks to his partner.
The 42-year-old basketball player works for TNT as well as Bleacher Report.

Over the weekend, Haynes was interviewed by Michael Grant of Horrible ad as the two discussed the NBA member’s work.
Haynes is a father of four daughters and works a challenging position that takes up most of his day.
He revealed that it is not easy to do his job and he has had cases where he did not carry out his usual family tasks.
“You can’t close your deal at five o’clock and expect to be relevant in this sector, especially as an insider,” Haynes said.
“I often have to step away from a family dinner or a large family event to take a phone call. It was difficult for my marriage from the beginning, but it was something we got used to.”
Haynes even admitted that work was “not healthy” for his marriage, but that he has a partner who has supported him throughout his journey.
“Is it healthy? No, it’s not healthy. But it’s work, and I understand that. And if you have a partner, it’s important that they understand and give you the freedom to do that,” he added.
Haynes recalled a time in 2012 when his wife was unhappy when he was trying to tell an NBA story right before his childhood friend was getting married.
The then-30-year-old was a writer covering the Portland Trail Blazers and was receiving information from forward Nicolas Batum’s agent that he wanted to force his way to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Haynes said he had his laptop in the second row at the wedding while he interviewed the agent.
The bride and groom understood his mission and forgave him, while his wife still hasn’t forgiven him for making her feel “weird”.
During the interview, Haynes also talked about a case that caused him stress.
In 2017, he received news that Gordan Hayward was leaving the Utah Jazz and signing with the Boston Celtics.
Haynes reported the development, but Hayward’s agent did not confirm the report and even said it was false at the time.

“So here I am on an island. I got very good information and I trusted my sources about it. Then for about six hours everyone refuted my report,” he said.
“I was left with it [and] Even my editors questioned me.
“Ultimately, six hours later, Gordon Hayward publishes The Players’ Tribune story that he is heading to Boston.”
Haynes will work the NBA playoffs for TNT.
He will be working Game 2 of the New York Knicks-Philadelphia 76ers game at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
