But he turned his back on many of the pitfalls of being an NBA megastar.

“It was never a question of money, cars, fame or lifestyle”, Tatum told Atlético.

“I really love the game because I love basketball, not because of all the things that come with it.

“There are a lot of people who gamble and get involved in the lifestyle and choose that over gambling.”

Tatum recently revealed that he only spends sponsorship money, not his NBA salary.

“[My mom and I] I had an agreement before I was drafted that I couldn’t spend the money I earned with the Celtics and that I would have to live off my support,” he said. Tatum told Graham Bessinger.

“She and my accountant agreed.”

Tatum has three unique cars in his $700,000 garage – a Rolls Royce, a Mercedes and a classic Ford Mustang.

And he still finds great joy in buying snacks when he fills up the car.

“If we’re at a gas station, I still buy my bag of chips because I used to dream about moments like this,” Tatum said.

Tatum has regularly shown off his white Rolls-Royce Wraith on social media.
