The cast of Undisputed got into a GOAT debate on live TV and Paul Pierce made a heated defense.
An NBA player poll asked players who they thought was the GOAT of the NBA, and six players received votes.
Michael Jordan and LeBron James were the two names that received the most votes.
However, one name that did pop up in the group was Paul Pierce, and he was happy to brag about it on Undisputed.
“Paul, do you have any idea who voted for you?” Skip Bayless asked.
Keyshawn Johnson joked that Pierce must have rigged the vote to put his name in the hat.
Pierce didn’t care about the jokes and went straight to making his GOAT case.
“Sometimes it’s not always everything you do on the court, but also off the court that makes you the GOAT,” Pierce said.
“It’s a combination of things that can put you in the goat conversation.
“Hey, don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
Pierce is certainly one of the game’s greats. In his 19-year career, Pierce averaged 19.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game on 44.5% shooting.
Pierce has the 17th-most career points in NBA history.
He made 10 All Star teams, received four All-NBA nods and won the 2008 NBA Finals.
His career culminated with a Hall of Fame induction in 2021.
Fans thought it was hilarious that Pierce was voted GOAT and shared their laughs on social media.
“Whoever voted for Paul Pierce deserves prison time,” said one fan.
“Whoever voted for Paul Pierce should get a drug test ASAP,” said another fan.
“Haha. Paul Pierce got votes. Oh my god,” said a third fan.
“I saw the graphic and immediately knew everyone was going to be mad about Paul Pierce being there,” said a fourth fan.
