NBA legend Charles Barkley doubled down on his brutal approach on a popular southern island.

Galveston, Texas, may be a hot spot where many in the South can enjoy a day away from city life, but it seems safe to say that Barkley isn’t a fan.

Barkley went viral after the New Orleans Pelicans’ 106-85 Game 3 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder for suggesting the former should be sent to Galveston as punishment, assuming he would be eliminated from the NBA Playoffs.

He then reaffirmed his stance on Sunday in response to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina, who was born on the island south of Houston, calling him out on Instagram.

Now, ahead of Monday night’s games, Barkley was forced to respond to user X, formerly known as Twitter, who called him out.

“This is Barkley hanging out at the bike shop in Galveston,” the user captioned an old photo of them together, adding, “Guess it wasn’t so bad.”

“I had a lot of fun at the local hangouts when we played there, when we were there for training camp,” Barkley explained of his time with the Houston Rockets, where he played from 1996-2000.

“You just can’t go to the beach. I just want to say everyone was great to me in Galveston, but your beach was dirty as hell.”

Barkley later added that he couldn’t go to the beach because he didn’t have “steel-toe boots.”

“I have to have steel toe boots if you go to that beach in Galveston…you don’t want to get in the way of my pedicure.”

Later, after Barkley flipped a switch to secure the night, mini beach balls rained down on the hosts from the ceiling.

“Galveston Bay, here we come,” declared Barkley

Viewers were quick to come around to this latest chapter in the Barkley vs. Galveston at X.

“Listen, Galveston is one of my favorite places on Earth, but let’s not pretend the water is crystal blue,” said one user.

“Galveston beaches are generally terrible, in fact it’s sad,“, said a second.

While another added: “Charles nevermind! It’s #disrespectful.”

These comments were nothing compared to Tina’s, however.

“Chuck, we don’t joke about Galveston, Texas!” she wrote.

“You better watch out, idiot! Our water may not be blue, but it’s still the beach and we love it!

“Jay sent this to me and Angie B yesterday! He asked us if we’re going to let him talk about our city like that!

I just want to say that everyone was great to me in Galveston, but their beach was really dirty.

“Alright @charleswbarkley we had a good laugh.”

Barkley later apologized on air, saying he didn’t “want that smoke.”

“I don’t want Beehive and Jay after Chuck. Miss Knowles, I apologize.”

However, while Barkley may have apologized, he still stated that he would not be going there for the holidays.

“This water is so dirty, I’d rather go to San Antonio with those big old women,” he joked.

Later, Barkley was showered with beach balls on set before saying,
