LEBRON James may be the oldest player in the NBA – but he’s still as fit as ever.

The NBA star closed the retirement question after the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs.

And the 39-year-old has maintained an intense training regime to keep up with his younger teammates and opponents.

LeBron recently posted a video on Instagram of your work program, with the caption “Always working”.

And the basketball icon’s work with longtime coach Mike Mancias has kept him at the top of the game for more than two decades.

“We’ve been doing this so long it’s become second nature, and he’s another efficient guy.

LeBron currently ranks second in NBA all-time total minutes played with 56,598, behind Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

And his focus remains on staying in the best shape possible as he contemplates his 22nd NBA season.

“The only thing I’m doing right now is continuing to work on my conditioning, where I can play so many consecutive minutes [as possible] fall to the ground and not get tired or if I get tired, I can catch my breath faster than my competitors,” he said.

LeBron maintains his stamina with a series of strength training exercises.

“It’s like waking up. It’s like brushing your teeth. It’s like not leaving your phone when you leave the house,” he said.

“It’s been a long time since I woke up and thought about doing something like strength training or figuring out a way to improve my body when it comes to being the best I can be. ”

The NBA star trains six times a week, with three weight training sessions and three plyometrics and cardio sessions.

In a ‘Full Body Blitz’, he does two sets of 12-15 reps of alternating standing Push-Pull, mid-chest fly, standing Pallof press and reverse fly.

Additionally, he does two sets of 10-12 reps of Romanian deadlifts (RDL), split squats, single-arm, single-leg RDL, and resisted calf raises.

LeBron plays a lot of music during his workouts, especially hip-hop.

He says the “cadence that a lot of hip-hop artists use when they’re making music just puts me in the rhythm of the training I’m doing.”

LeBron says he doesn’t need additional motivation to work out.

“I’m the first one to wake up in my house,” he said.

“I put in the work. I challenge myself.

“I am committed every day to being the best I can and reaching heights that even I did not believe.”

LeBron is also very strict with his diet.

A typical breakfast includes an egg white omelet with smoked salmon and gluten-free pancakes with berries.

For lunch, he eats whole wheat pasta, salmon and vegetables.

Before NBA games, LeBron eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with sliced ​​apples and almond butter at halftime.

Dinner options include chicken parmesan with arugula salad and a glass of red wine.

LeBron says he stays away from artificial drinks, artificial sugars and fried foods.

In a 2018 interview with author and podcaster Tim Ferriss, James said he is “very consistent with training my body, rehabbing my body, eating, having my body very clean throughout this journey because I’ve always wanted to have a long career, or as long as I could be in this space.”
