PHILADELPHIA 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey has become one of New Balance’s top ambassadors.
And the NBA star, who stunned the New York Knicks in the playoffs on Tuesday, recently celebrated his deal with the company by purchasing dozens of pairs at the SneakerCom event in Dallas.
Maxey was filmed “buying every New Balance in sight” at the exclusive event.
Some of the pairs cost up to $250.
“Wrap them up,” Maxey is heard saying.
“Do you want them all? I got you”, replies the seller.
In a separate videoMaxey was seen with bags of New Balances that he said he would give to his “bros,” sisters and family.
Maxey recently revealed that he was “extremely excited” to join New Balance’s roster of athletes.
“It’s a dream come true to be part of this brand. It’s great to be there with other great players and great company.” he told Sports Illustrated.
“New Balance has this family ethos that I really wanted to be a part of. That was one of the most important things.
“It’s a partnership. I haven’t been here long and I feel like the partnership is growing every day.”
Maxey reveals that he has a lot of 550s and is also a fan of the 2002 and 990s.
“Off-court footwear is unlimited,” he added.
“They have so many different styles and flavors that you just try to mix and match and make lots of combinations of them.”
Maxey inspired the 76ers to a dramatic 112-106 overtime victory in Game 5 of the playoff series against the Knicks on Tuesday,
With the 76ers down six points, Maxey scored seven points in the final 28.9 seconds of regulation – including consecutive 3-pointers – to send the game into overtime.
Maxey finished with 46 points in 52 minutes.
“What was going through my head was trying to survive,” Maxey said.
“Our season is on the line.
“I trust my work. I trust what I’ve done my whole life and I just tried to get to a point and get up and knock down that shot.”
Maxey left sports icons Patrick Mahomes and LeBron James in awe with his efforts.
“Crazy!!!!” three-time Super Bowl champion Mahomes wrote on the X.
“TYRESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BANG,” LeBron added.
Game 6 of the series will see the teams return to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Thursday night.
The Sixers will have a chance to level up at 3-3 and force a decision at Madison Square Garden this weekend.
