Davis went live on Instagram as the nine-year NBA veteran was seen outside a New York courtroom following the verdict.

During the live video, the 6-foot-5, 289-pound Davis predicted his upcoming body transformation, saying, “That’s the only way to stop me from eating hamburgers: putting me in jail.”

Davis was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

He was convicted in November 2023 of submitting false medical claims to the NBA Players’ Benefit Health and Welfare Plan.

Davis is one of 20 people, including former NBA stars Terrence Williams and Keyon Doolings, to be sentenced in the case.

The former Boston Celtics big man was indicted in the case in October 2021.

In addition to his prison sentence, Davis was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution.

He will have to attend a financial management course and mandatory drug treatment to receive supervised release.

Besides Williams, the alleged ringleader of the scheme, no one received more prison time than Davis.

Davis, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, played in the NBA for nine seasons.

Davis won the NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008.
