PATRICK Mahomes and his wife Brittany were on hand for the Dallas Mavericks’ Game 3 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
During the NBA playoffs, an ABC TV announcer shared an impressive opinion of the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback.
NFL star Patrick and his wife Brittany appeared courtside at the American Airlines Center for the series’ second-round game on Saturday afternoon.
The Texas natives and high school sweethearts are Mavericks fans.
During one sequence, ABC’s Dave Pasch revealed that he and fellow analyst Hubie Brown received a text from Mahomes.
“Pat, unsolicited, just turned to Hubie and me and said Lu Dort could play in the NFL,” Pasch said, referring to Thunder star Luguentz Dort.

“I don’t know if he was joking or serious, but he said he could play linebacker or running back.”
Brown responded to Pasch’s note, saying, “Very good compliment.”
Mahomes’ remark came as the sports world recently debated whether NBA players can play in the NFL.
Former NBA player Austin Rivers sparked the debate during The Pat McAfee Show when he said, “I can take 30 players right now in the NBA and throw them in the NFL. You can’t take 30 players from the NFL and put them in the NBA. “
Still, three-time NFL MVP Mahomes seemed to praise Dort and his athletic, physical play.
The latter skill was evident, literally, when Dort committed six personal fouls in the game, which led to him being ejected late in the fourth quarter.
The Mavericks won and took a 2-1 series lead.
Dallas stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving scored 22 points.
Thunder star and 2023 MVP finalist Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 31 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.
Oklahoma City has now lost two straight games after starting 5-0 in the playoffs.
They will face the Mavericks in Game 4 on Monday night in Dallas.
Mahomes and his wife Brittany were good luck charms for the Mavericks.
How Patrick and Brittany met

Patrick Mahomes married his high school sweetheart, Brittany, in an intimate ceremony in Hawaii in 2022.
The NFL quarterback met his future wife at Whitehouse High School, 10 years before they finally tied the knot.
The couple kept their romance alive during college, when Patrick played football at Texas Tech and Brittany was a soccer star at the University of Texas.
Brittany briefly played soccer in Iceland in 2017 after college, while Patrick was drafted by the Chiefs.
The power couple now has two children – Sterling Skye, born in February 2021, and Patrick Lavon Mahomes III, aka Bronze, born in November 2022.
Both could make another appearance in support of the NBA team next week.
