Murray, 27, scored 12 of his 19 points in the third quarter as momentum took the game away from the Timberwolves.

And the two NBA stars could be seen in a tense exchange after the buzzer.

Edwards was cheering when he spotted Murray and shouted in his direction as they passed each other on the court.

“I just told him we loved it,” Edwards later said.

“‘Keep talking [like] what. That’s what we like. Well, I loved it.

“He didn’t say anything back. But I’m pretty sure he heard me. They heard me. You live for that.”

Murray made no reference to the trade.

“Game 2 definitely woke us up,” he said after securing back-to-back wins.

“We realized we can’t hold back.”

Aaron Gordon had 27 points for the Nuggets and didn’t lose until the fourth quarter.

“The shooting, the playmaking, the physicality, the defense on two All-Stars, a lot is being asked of him right now,” coach Mike Malone said.

“What have you loved about Aaron Gordon since he put on a Nuggets uniform.

“It was always the Nuggets first. He is truly selfless.”

Game 5 heads to Denver on Thursday night and the momentum is now with the Nuggets in the Western Playoffs.

With the series 2-0 to Minnesota, Stephen A.Smith made a bold play that has now come back to haunt him.

NBA Western Conference Playoffs

First round

Oklahoma City Thunder (1) 4-0 New Orleans Pelicans (8)
Los Angeles Clippers (4) 2-4 Dallas Mavericks (5)
Minnesota Timberwolves (3) 4-0 Phoenix Suns (6)
Denver Nuggets (2) 4-1 Los Angeles Lakers (7)

Conference Semifinals

Oklahoma City Thunder (1) x Dallas Mavericks (5)
Minnesota Timberwolves (3) vs. Denver Nuggets (2)

The 56-year-old ESPN personality was asked where he keeps his brooms while discussing the Nuggets.

“The brooms are in some closets and both are being removed,” Smith responded.

“I believe the Minnesota Timberwolves will sweep the defending NBA champions.

“There is no shadow on the Denver Nuggets, but you have to score to win basketball games.

“The last game – Game 2 – they scored 35 points in the first half, they scored 15 points in the second quarter, they scored 80 points in the game.

“Did you know that the Denver Nuggets have only failed to score 100 points in a game 10 times this season? In games they have never won, their record is 0-10.

“If there’s one defense that has proven to us that it can shut you down, it’s the Minnesota Timberwolves.”

The Nuggets rejected the criticism and scored 117 points to the Timberwolves’ 90 in Game 3.

And after racking up 115 again this time with Nikola Jokic starting to heat up, Minnesota needs a spark on the road.
