THE Inside The NBA team might want to brush up on its clay modeling skills before taking another shot at the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

With regulars Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal absent on Tuesday night, Draymond Green and Vince Carter were brought in alongside Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith.

Next to the hosts on the TNT set was the Larry O’Brien Trophy in all its glory.

This led Johnson to suggest that his colleagues try to recreate the gold award with modeling clay.

Green, Carter and Smith were each given a wooden board and a bowl of clay to work with, and just 9 to 0 seconds to create their masterpieces.

During the task, Johnson asked Carter if he thought he had “the artistic gene,” to which he bluntly replied, “no way.”

As it turned out, Carter wasn’t being modest.

When time ran out, the team watched as Green’s trophy collapsed, while Carter stated that Smith’s looked like a person sitting with their arms crossed.

Unfortunately for Carter, as far as viewers were concerned, his looked like something else entirely.

“Vince Carter just made a clay penis on national television,” one fan tweeted.

“Lmao they should let the Vince Carter clay out,” joked a second.

“Vince needs to dismantle his trophy as quickly as possible. The kids are watching haha,” added another.

Draymond Green makes surprising NBA champion prediction live on TNT as impressed fans say ‘he really knows basketball’

While a fourth commented: “Notice how the camera avoided showing Vince’s????”

Clearly less than impressed, Johnson called out his colleagues for their attempts.

“All I’m saying is if someone came in here and said, ‘What is this?’ No one would say, ‘Oh, it’s the Larry O’Brien Trophy,'” he joked.

Returning to the subject, the hosts were deeply impressed by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets following their third consecutive Conference Semifinal victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Jokic racked up 40 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds as the defending NBA champions defeated the Timberwolves 112-97 to claim a 3-2 series lead.

“It felt like a start to finish guys,” Carter said of the Serb’s performance.

Green, in turn, explained that he believes the series was practically lost by the Timberwolves.

Inside the future of the NBA?

The operation of the NBA on TNT Sports is in doubt due to the NBA’s broadcast agreements.

The Emmy-winning sports show is a fan favorite thanks to the likes of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley.

But TNT’s broadcast deal with the NBA ends after next season and NBC is preparing a bid to take over those rights.

If TNT loses its NBA package, it will raise questions about the popular Inside the NBA.

One solution could be to recreate the show on another network, which would snatch the rights from the NBA.

“They don’t believe anymore,” he said, later adding, “When you lose belief, it’s over.”

Denver will try to close out the series on Thursday at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
