BASKETBALL star Mac McClung celebrated his NBA Slam Dunk Contest victory with an epic new collection of tattoos.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star won his second consecutive title at the NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis in February.
He became just the fifth consecutive winner in the event’s illustrious history.
And the NBA G-League guard marked the occasion by visiting New York-based tattoo artist Michelle Santana.
The sleeve on the right arm has a lot of symbolic meaning, said Santana TMZ.
On the upper arm, there is an ocean, a butterfly, birds and a child reading a book under a tree that represents “McClung keeping his inner child’s hopes and dreams alive,” according to the publication.
McClung’s Virginia roots are represented by a mountain and his former high school, Gate City, located five miles north of the Tennessee border.
There is also a cross and a tiger’s eye on his forearm.
“He had the drawing, everything very clear in his head, so he decided where each element would be placed and in which area of the arm,” said Santana.
The art lasted two sessions, with more tattoos planned in the future.
Basketball fans responded with delight to the ink work.
“You are amazing,” said one.
“Love this,” added another.
“The best,” noted a third.
McClung is covered in tattoos, with angel wings covering his back with the phrase “Gate City” and a rose.
On his chest, he has a crown and Chinese letters, among other designs.
Meanwhile, on McClung’s left arm he has a lion, the number 22 and the word “Gift.”
The 6-foot-1 guard currently plays for the Osceola Magic in the NBA G League.
Despite being one of the best players in the developmental league and a two-time Slam Dunk champion, McClung has struggled to make his mark in the NBA.
The 25-year-old played just four games in the NBA, for the Chicago Bulls, Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers.
But thanks to his dunking ability, he has gained a huge social media presence, with 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
McClung signed marketing deals with companies including AT&T, Raising Canes, Panini America, Coinbase, Google Pixel, VKTRY Insoles and others last year.
“I don’t focus on it too much,” McClung said. Sport about your marketing agreements.

“I feel that the best partnerships emerge naturally.
“It’s definitely something really cool, but it’s not a priority for me.”

“I’m going to call him Mac no matter what,” Marcus told Lenoir at that time, according to Exhaust.
