Pierce, 46, revealed the accident occurred at a gym during a guest appearance on Undisputed on Monday morning.

“No wheelchair today?” host Skip Bayless asked in a likely nod to the 10-time All-Star’s infamous wheelchair accident in the 2008 NBA Finals.

In Game 1 of the title-deciding series with the Los Angeles Lakers, the 6-foot-1 retired forward was taken to the locker room after a collision with then-teammate Kendrick Perkins.

But he ran back a few minutes later, leading NBA fans to speculate that the Celtics star requested the wheelchair because he had pooped his pants.

Pierce ignored Bayless’ comment and explained how he got hurt.

“I was crushing it in the weight room and a plate fell into my hand,” the California native said.

“I was doing a board with 45 [pound plate].

“Nobody can really do that except, you know, real gorillas in the weight room.

“He slipped and broke my hand. I had to have surgery.”

Pierce said he drove to the hospital despite his finger being “split open” and a bone “popping out.”

After the surgery, the Celtics icon continued, went home and had coffee.

“That’s it…” said the Undisputed analyst.

“And I’m going to hit the weight room again today and get back into action.”

Meanwhile, Pierce has faced pressure for celebrating the New York Knicks’ elimination from the playoffs at the hands of the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.

The Pacers closed out the second-round series with a 130-109 victory in Game 7, which saw Knicks star Jalen Brunson leave the court shortly after fracturing his left hand.

After the confrontation, Pierce shared a clip of himself stepping on Brunson’s shirt.

“What do you say, bro? What do you say? Y’all still talking? Get out of here,” the Celtics legend can be heard saying in the video.

Pierce captioned the post with three silent and two laughing emojis.

He then continued to insult Knicks fans while explaining that his ire was not directed at Brunson.

“This was about the Knicks, so send me another Knicks player jersey and I’ll do it again,” he said. wrote on X.
