Brown was snubbed from the All-NBA team and the All-Defensive team, but he kept his head down and played.

Brown’s strong performance in the Eastern Conference Finals helped the Celtics beat the Pacers in four games.

He had a 40-point performance in the second game and a 29-point showing in the fourth game.

His efforts were so impressive that he was awarded the Larry Bird Trophy for ECF MVP.

Brown orchestrated the winning run for the Celtics in game four, hitting a game-tying shot before blocking Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard.

He then brought the ball down the court and handed it to Derrick White for the game-winning three.

When Brown heard his name called ECF MVP, he didn’t expect the honor.

“I didn’t see that coming,” Brown said.

“I never win anything. I was very happy that we won.”

Brown was asked about being snubbed from the All-NBA and All-Defensive teams after Game 2 of the series, and said he didn’t “have time to care.”

After the Game 4 victory, Brown had a big smile on his face as he addressed some of the negativity around him.

Specifically, Stephen A. Smith brought messages he claimed were from NBA sources surrounding Brown’s attitude.

“At this point, I’m at that stage in my life where I just embrace all forms of negativity or whatever the case may be,” he said.

“Some things I don’t understand. I’m not supposed to understand. But I just know who I am and what I stand for.

“Sometimes it makes people uncomfortable and sometimes I miss out on things, I miss out on opportunities, awards, marketing deals or whatever the case may be.

“At this point, I just accept it. I am who I am and I will stick to my beliefs.

“And I’m one of those people who would die for what they believe in, so I just accept that at this point and I’m grateful that I can be in this position, and the energy is about to shift. “

While there may be negativity in the media, Brown’s peers are impressed with him.

LeBron James took advantage of X to shout out the Celtics star, calling him a “young king”.

Teammate Derrick White gave Brown a glowing review after the series sweep, showing confidence in him.

“He’s unreal,” White said of Brown.

“I knew he was unreal when I got here, but the best thing about JB is that he has improved every year he has been in this league, which is a testament to his hard work and dedication.

“He was unreal all series on both sides of the ball. A complete player that you don’t see a lot of these days. On both sides of the ball he was unreal and I love being his teammate.”
